On Cha Cha Cha In Blue, the longest-running blues show in Montreal, host John Detcheverry devotes equal time to the classics, new releases and Canadian artists. On the air since 1990.

Listeners can expect to hear the likes of Paul Deslauriers, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, Pop Staples, Downchild, Steve Rowe, MonkeyJunk, and Charlie Musselwhite, as well as live performances and interviews.

Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue it's still festival season and I have a sneak peek at the coming week's Festival International Du Blues De Tremblant with music from Bywater Call, JJ Grey & Mofro, Shemekia Copeland, Lloyd Spiegel, The Joel Dupuis Band, Spencer Mackenzie, Glenn Marais & The Mojo Train, Dawn Tyler Watson, and even a new song from Crystal Shawanda. Again, there are plenty more great artists to see but it's only a 2-hour show. This week's new releases are from the "Shapes Of Things To Come" department - singles from upcoming albums by Peter Parcek, Reed Turchi, Ruthie Foster, The Temperance Movement, and GA-20 with Charlie Musselwhite. The history part of tonight's show starts in 1923 with Edna Hicks, followed by music from Clara Smith, Gladys Bentley, Victoria Spivey, Billie Holiday, Tiny Grimes, Louis Jordan, Muddy Waters, Memphis Minnie, Red Prysock, Carl Perkins, Johnnie Johnson, and Mavis Staples. We'll close the show with Big Time Lew who swings by the Greenfield Park library for an outdoor concert on Wednesday.
