Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we look into the future with some "shapes of things to come" - new singles from upcoming new albums by Ruthie Foster, Pokey Lafarge, Ben Poole, Justin Saladino Band, and Robin Trower! Then we'll feature some recent and/or favored new releases by Robin Banks, Mich And The Blues Bastards, Roosevelt Purifoy, Janiva Magness, GA-20 with Charlie Musselwhite, Walk That Walk, and Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar. The history part of tonight's show starts way back in 1920 with Mamie Smith performing what some have called the first recorded blues, followed by music from Lonnie Johnson, Big Mama Thornton, Sonny Boy Williamson, Buddy Guy, Howlin' Wolf, Jimmy Rogers, T-Bone Walker, Jimmy McCracklin, Sammy Lewis & The Willie Johnson Combo, King Curtis, Percy Mayfield, Roy Buchanan, and Detroit Junior. We'll close the show with the traditional Chicago blues sound of the Otis Ali Blues Group who will be at UPSTAIRS JAZZ on Thursday.
