Favoriting August 23, 2026: REVEREND FREAKCHILD LIVE IN STUDIO! NEW RELEASES! This Week In Blues History! Where It's At (The Live Music Roundup)!

Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue we share our visit from the Reverend Freakchild! He dropped by the studio recently and brought his hybrid "guitarlele" to play a few songs, talk about the reissue of his first two albums, and engage in a wide-raging mostly musical conversation. But first we'll listen to hot new singles from Will Wilde, Faye Carol, Eli Paperboy Reed, Billy Jeter (feat. Bobby Rush), and Erja Lyytinen. This week's featured new release happen to be friends of the Reverend Freakchild - Hugh Pool + John Ragusa form the long-running duo MULEBONE who have just released their "Cure For the Miseries". The history part of tonight's show starts in 1935 with Buddy Moss followed by music from Blue Lu Barker, Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup, Jimmy Rushing, Wynonie Harris, Lester Young, Otis Spann, Freddie King, Hop Wilson, Jimmy Reed, Etta James, Brian Slawson with Stevie Ray Vaughan, J.D. Slim, and Vann "Piano Man" Walls with The Stephen Barry Band. We'll close the show with Colin Perry & Peter Mika who will be keeping the swing dancers swinging at Les Mrecredis Swing at Café La Ligne Verte on Wednesday.
