Favoriting September 6, 2026: HOT NEW SINGLES! NEW RELEASES! This Week In Blues History! Where It's At (The Live Music Roundup)!

Listen to this show: Pop-up listenListen | Download

Tonight on Cha Cha Cha In Blue Billy Jeter reminds us how and why you got a Labor Day holiday. Then it's time for new singles from Miko Marks, Ruthie Foster, Claudette King, Michael Lee & The Wartime Limousine, and Ben Poole. I greased the new release deck with maple syrup for new Canadian albums from Montreal's Kevin Mark, Quebec's Mike DeWay, Vancouver's Honeybear, the Band and Hamilton's Smoke Wagon Blues Band. The history part of the show starts with a 1927 song from Barbecue Bob, "Meat Man Pete" dedicated to blues-supporting friend of the show Smoke Meat Pete, and continues with Lonnie Johnson, Arthur “Big Boy" Crudup, Robert Nighthawk, Pee Wee Crayton, Sonny Boy Williamson II, Buddy Guy, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Adam Karch, Maria Muldaur, and Latimore, who just passed from this world on August 22. We'll close the show with the Durham County Poets who provide us with two opportunities to catch them in concert this week. Thursday they'll be at Upstairs Jazz on Mackay and Friday in beautiful Parc Michel-Martin for the 14th Édition of VIP En Blues, L'Île-Perrot.
