Wood Burnt Red  Best Things   Favoriting Hold on Tight  Indie  2026  “Best Things” is the second single taken from UK Southern-rock four-piece Wood Burnt Red’s debut album Hold on Tight released Friday September 4th. “Best Things is a feel-good song about being completely skint,” says Wood Burnt Red’s lead singer and guitarist, Tom Franklin. “You’ve got a nice home you don’t own, a car you haven’t paid for, a mortgage you can barely afford and a pension that thinks you’re worthless, but from the outside, you’re absolutely smashing it.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jc79rzl-m9E  ✓

Gwyn Ashton  Stop The Chop   Favoriting Stop the Chop - single  Fab Tone Records  2026  Australian blues-rockin' activist Gwyn Ashton wrote "Stop the Chop" in support of environmental demonstrations opposing the Malinauskas State Government's redevelopment of the North Adelaide Golf Course. The $45 million project - featuring a LIV Golf-style upgrade designed by Greg Norman - requires the removal of up to 600 established trees in the Adelaide Park Lands. More trees are about to come down for this PLUS development for Motocross bike races. These trees are essential for South Australia, many being hundreds of years old and supposed to be protected, not only for the environment but they are homes to thousands of native animals that can’t just be relocated elsewhere. https://youtu.be/Ce1cdVQHoow?si=pilwG5TvZ_pEtuVK  ✓

The All Stars on this recording are guitarists Anson Funderburgh and Junior Watson, drummer Wes Starr, Bob Welsh on piano, Kedar Roy on bass plus bandleader and master blaster Mark Hummel. Mark Hummel  Road Dog   Favoriting Road Dog  Rockinitis Records  2026  "Road Dog, the title cut, an original song I did an acoustic version of on Way back Machine. I had done an unissued version prior with a full band which I really liked but knew this band could one up it. With a combo like Anson laying it down on an Eddie Taylor two beat and Watson playing wicked fills, I couldn’t go wrong. The rhythm section of Starr and Roy plus Bob Welsh on keys is unbeatable."  ✓

Mark Hummel  Black Nights   Favoriting Road Dog  Rockinitis Records  2026  "Black Nights is a Lowell Fulson hit I was fortunate enough to have performed alongside this legend many nights, as it was a huge hit of Fulson’s. I recently started doing this song again as I felt Anson’s guitar style lends itself well to Lowell’s iconic tune. It has long been one of my favorite blues tracks and the fifth one I’ve recorded by Fulson."  ✓
