Elliot Family Production Internship

Hands-on training in community broadcasting, audio production, and technical media skills at CKUT 90.3 FM.

Started in 2026, The Elliot Family Production Internship supports emerging audio producers and broadcasters in gaining real-world experience inside CKUT 90.3 FM, one of Canada’s longest-running campus-community radio stations.

Through technical training, mentorship, and collaborative work with CKUT’s staff and volunteer community, interns develop practical skills in broadcast production, studio operations, field recording and digital audio editing — while contributing to the daily life of our station.

This internship exists thanks to the generous support of Radio McGill (CKUT) alumnus David A. Elliot and the Elliot Family.

About David A. Elliot

David A. Elliot

David A. Elliot is a distinguished Radio McGill (CKUT) and McGill University alumnus and longtime supporter of community media.

During his time at McGill University, David was deeply involved with Radio McGill, the student radio club and station that would later evolve into CKUT 90.3 FM. His contributions to the station and to student life earned him the McGill Students’ Society Silver Award, recognizing the impact of his work within the campus community.

After graduating, David went on to build a remarkable career in broadcasting. Working with ABC/Disney, he became an accomplished media professional and was awarded two Emmy Awards for his work broadcasting both the Calgary and Los Angeles Olympic Games.

David credits part of his success to the experience and opportunity he found at Radio McGill — a place where he first found and developed his passion for broadcasting and media production.

Through the Elliot Family Production Internship, David is giving back to the station that helped launch his career. His generous gift helps ensure that future generations of students, youth, and community members have the same opportunity to learn the craft of broadcasting, gain technical production skills, and contribute to the vibrant and ever-changing world of community radio.
