You have a passion for Justice, whether it is for a political, social, or environmental issue. You are a rebel with a cause. Then don’t miss this event jointly organized by QPIRG and CKUT.

Two committed radio activists and CKUT show hosts share their vision and their experience. Where to start, how to plan your program and engage your listeners. What to avoid and what to pursue. How to meet challenges and stay the course.

Samaa Elibayari will share reflections on her long time work representing marginalized voices on the airwaves through community radio, particularly Arab/ Muslim experiences on the program Caravan and lately Palestine with Sounds of Resistance which airs as part of CKUT 90.3 FM’s community news programming.

Stefan Christoff will share reflections about his work at the intersections of cultural work, social movements and community radio. Stefan is a long-time community member volunteer at CKUT 90.3 FM and hosts the weekly program, Free City Radio, which airs on 10 campus / community radio stations throughout Canada. Stefan also regularly contributes to Radio AlHara and curated the book Freedom Frequencies: The Radio AlHara Sessions on Cultural Work in a Time of War, out in February 2027 through Common Notions Press.
