MUTEK Festival takes place in Montreal August 25 – 30, 2026, exploring the intersection of music and technology, and featuring local and international talent. Café interviews two participating artists, NGL Flounce et Abulzooz.

Butcher T’s Noon Time Cuts provides interviews from international/local artists and a wide variety of music genres from Old/New School, Soul/R&B, Hip Hop, Funk, and House. This program also airs the rhythms of Caribbean and Latin music including Reggae, Soca, Zouk, Salsa, Bachata, etc., just to name a few.

Featuring legendary DJ Butcher T, Noon Time Cuts began in 1992 and showed Montreal what a real Urban Programme could be like.

QueerCorps features artists from Festival Ctrl+Alt. Ctrl+Alt does not simply seek to showcase unfamiliar faces. It platforms voices that have been ignored for far too long.

From July 24 to 26, the Village is reborn as the epicentre of a politico-artistic act of expression. The Ctrl+Alt Festival materializes a space where the Arts of the night intertwine to compose a living portrait of Montréal after dark: a city shaped by its under-recognized talents, its Queer scenes, its creative margins, and its underground legacy.

Nelson and Andrea from the News Collective joined Andre Goulet from Unrigged at Casa Del Popolo on Sunday June 21st during the Suoni Per Il Popolo festival to talk about the goings-on that provide the political backbone that holds up this legendary Montreal experimental music festival, now in its 26th year. They were joined by Rosie Long Decter (Maisonneuve/New Feeling), Nik Barry-Shaw (Council of Canadians), Ole Hendrickson and Conor Curtis (Sierra Club Canada), independent journalist Rachel Gilmore, and tech writer Paris Marx (Tech Won’t Save Us).

This episode featured a chat with members of the Smash the Patriarchy! show and a live performance by Jahsun & Engone Endong.

In this segment, we continue the conversation with Sage from the previous week. We talk about what the current picture looks like in terms of (lack of) spaces for expression and conversation, (lack of) representation and adaptability in mental and physical healthcare, and (lack of) representation in academia and research. We then look towards the future in terms of what we’d like to see changed and give our listeners calls to action on how to take part in the change we’d like to see.
