Duha Elmardi has been  a strong and articulate supporter of the democratic forces in 2018-2019 in Sudan since that led to the ousting of the brutal dictator, Omar al Bashir. Allan Hanley aka Parts Project is a Montreal-based producer and performer. Originally from Winnipeg, he moved to Montreal in 2012 and began making music as Parts Project in 2018. He takes a gritty approach to sound system culture and underground club sounds. His productions speak to the history of bass music while bringing flavours of body music, left field, hypnotic techno and breakbeats into the fold.

Khalid interviews the great Cuban pianist Omar Sosa and the master kora player from Senegal, Seckou Keita, on their second album SUBA and the percussive and melodic roots of their music. They will be performing in Montreal on May 6 & 7 at the National along with Venezuelan percussionist, Gustavo Ovalles.

Samaa Elibyari is a long-time activist in the Arab/Muslim community in Montreal. She has been a host/producer of Caravan, a weekly bilingual news program, broadcast on CKUT waves from 2000 till 2011. Presently, she is one of the monthly contributors to Amandla, a staple of CKUT’s news programming since 1987.
