Djeity premieres their first body of work at Mutek titled “Things Are Not What They Seem” as a spectacle within SAT’s Dome that passes through traditions of negro spirituals, live vocals and instrumentation, audio reactive visuals by al11z and a first look at the expansive Djeity universe containing their past, present and future.
Della Orrey (she/they) is a Tiohtià:ke – Mooniyang – Montréal-based music composer and sound designer who founded Public Deity Records in 2024 seeking to investigate the post pandemic landscape of the music industry while establishing their emerging artist catalog under the moniker Djeity.
Genre bending and sonic world building with technology is the medium that the project utilizes while exploring themes of identity, healing and radical joy.
Within the audio-visual realm, their work supports a variety of formats ranging from (but not limited to) short films, advertising and virtual reality. Della’s work has contributed to international campaigns for Nike, Apple, Adidas and many more.
2025 is a year of development and presentation including live curation, interactive hybrid A/V performance, and inter-disciplinary collaboration with visual artists.
