Drumming w Shayne & Paulo – Live on CKUT (Panacea)
Montreal-based drummers and educators Shayne Assouline (@shayneondrums) and Paulo Max Riccardo (@paulomaxriccardo) joined hosts Michelle Wang and Maïa Monteil on Panacea on April 24, 2025.
The episode dives into what drumming means to them, navigating the line between passion and profession, and how percussion plays a role in their mental well-being. They open and close the show with a live drum duet from CKUT’s PCR studio.
Panacea is a spoken word radio show airing every 4th and 5th Thursday from 2–3 PM, dedicated to “fostering empathy through mental health education”.

CKUT's local journalist was on the scene at Sunday's Wild Pride march, where protesters made the link between queer and Palestinian liberation. Attendees told CKUT about their discontent with corporate Pride, which they say has strayed too far from the festival's radical roots.

Drug User Liberation Front (DULF) Fundraiser + Panel Discussion
Based in Vancouver, DULF ran a compassion club that provided tested, pure drugs to users to prevent overdoses. Not a single person died. Now, their founders are facing life in prison. Co-founder Eris Nyx spoke about drug user rights, harm reduction, and the criminalization of care, on Thursday June 26, 2025, in the SSMU Ballroom at McGill University.
