NFB and Afrosonic’s Innovation Lab: Sounds and Pressure Event, February 7th 2025

Check out this recap of a special screening of “Sounds & Pressure: Reggae in a Foreign Land” on Feb. 7th, 2025. This event was hosted by the National Film Board of Canada and Co-Presented by CKUT and The Afrosonic Innovation Lab and part of Montreal’s Black History Month Program.

The screening was followed by a live panel discussion with the directors, Chris Flanagan and Graeme Mathieson, alongside Montreal’s own, Johnny Black and some of CKUT Programmers, @butchert123 and @pat_dillon_moore

There was also a launch of a special exhibit curated by @afrosonicinnovationlab ‘The String Up’: Celebrating Reggae Histories and Sound System Culture in Montreal.

Music provided by CKUT DJs Butcher T @butchert123 and Roger Moore, and delicious food on offer by @caribbean.food.factory.
