CKUT is hiring a Production Assistant (Afro-Caribbean Oral History Project)

CKUT is hiring a Production Assistant to work on the Afro-Caribbean Oral History project, a Bhum Bhum Tyme initiative generously funded by the Community Radio Fund of Canada’s Radiometres program.

 

The project aims to document and amplify the stories of elder members of Afro-Caribbean communities in Montreal, with a special focus on musicians and musical history. Black applicants will be prioritized for this opportunity. The Production Assistant will work on the technical side of the project to record interviews and live music performances, as well as edit the audio into segments for broadcast and streaming. The role is compensated at $20/hour, 10 hours per week, for 36 weeks, starting in October 2023. The role is in-person in Montreal.

 

We’re looking for someone who:

Is tech-savvy,

Has eagerness and capacity to learn,

Ideally has ties to/experiences with Afro-Caribbean and/or Black communities,

Previous audio and digital skills are a strong asset.
