Commemorating Oliver Jones
Dr. Oliver Jones, legendary Canadian jazz pianist whose remarkable music career spanned nearly nine decades and who helped make Montreal a fixture on the international jazz map, passed away on the evening of 22 July 2026 at the age of 91.
His family and Justin Time Records announced on social media that they “are deeply saddened to announce his passing today in Montreal. An exceptional musician, a gentle soul and a friend who touched so many lives, his kindness and immense talent left a lasting mark on so many people and generations, and his memory will continue to inspire us.”
