On the air with Penny Patterson, prison activist Clair Culhane explains a few reforms to the Canadian prison system. She goes over the bill that allows the media to attend hearings of inmates.
For those inmates looking for early releases based on their good behaviour while in prison, Culhane points out that media would cause unnecessary commotion against such prisoners and their families. She also informs on judges’ right to decide when inmates would be eligible for parole based on impressions from their trials.
