RadioTET and La Voz de los Migrantes

Two new CKUT shows - RadioTET and La Voz de los Migrantes - have been instrumental in empowering temporary foreign workers and migrants with precarious status, especially in the current challenging anti immigrant environment.

We’re really proud of our two new radio programs, RadioTET and La Voz de los Migrantes, and the great work they have been doing on and off the air.

Radio LVM: La Voz de los Migrantes
A radio magazine dedicated to newcomers, asylum seekers, and people in precarious status of Spanish-speaking origin, especially the approximately 60,000 people of Mexican descent that may be residing in Montreal and around Quebec, and the 30,000 residing across Canada.

Radio TET: La Voz de los Trabajadores Extranjeros Temporales en Canadá
A radio magazine dedicated to Temporary Foreign Workers of Latino origin (60,000 Mexican, Guatemalan, etc.), working with the Program of Temporary Foreign Workers in the food industry, and another 50,000 who may be working with private employment agencies at home as caregivers, clerks, etc.

We’ve had some great feedback about the impact of the shows so far, indicating that the crews have been invited to participate in a research project aimed at improving living conditions workers. Additionally, thanks to the joint efforts of Conseil Migrant and CKUT’s waves and team, they have provided direct assistance or referrals to approximately 60 workers. Many more have reached out to the organizations that we have invited to the show.
